Our Why
Why We Built Neostake
Campus life is full of opinions. We built Neostake to give them a place to matter.
Campus Conversations
Students constantly debate exams, events, sports and campus news, but those opinions usually disappear in group chats and lecture halls.
THE PROBLEM
Opinions Into Predictions
Neostake turns everyday conversations into live predictions, making student opinion visible, interactive and measurable.
THE IDEA
One Shared Experience
A free platform where verified students can stay informed, compete and see what their campus actually thinks.
THE RESULT

“Still curious about Neostake? Whether you want to learn more about the SS26 Cycle, our platform or the story behind it, feel free to reach out to our team.”

How could students participate and compete?
Each student received virtual stakes to trade on the outcomes they considered most likely. Students could also create their own prediction markets for the community. Their trading performance determined their position on the leaderboard, allowing them to compete against other students for prizes.
How were campus-related markets resolved?
Campus-related markets were resolved through Neostake’s community-based oracle. Using a system developed with principles from game theory, the final outcome was determined based on user votes and each participant’s individual Oracle Score. This was designed to reward reliable voting and encourage truthful resolutions.
How did the Neostake leaderboards work?
Neostake featured two types of leaderboards. The semester leaderboard measured each student’s overall performance throughout the entire SS26 Cycle and determined the winners of the main semester prizes. The bi-weekly leaderboard measured the percentage change in each user’s net worth during a two-week period, using their net worth at the beginning of that period as the starting point.
Who could participate in Neostake during SS26?
All verified students from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) were eligible to participate in Neostake during the SS26 Cycle.
What prizes did the semester winners receive?
The top three students won the main semester prizes: a trip to Montreal for first place, an Apple MacBook Air for second place and a Nintendo Switch 2 for third place. Additional prizes were awarded throughout the semester in several two-week competitions.
